Sorry let me grasp this...
OP you want a nice straight 'highway' bypassing Donabate village to Portrane?
What exactly is there in Portrane, other than a few housing estates... that would justify such a spend?
Seriously?!

Re: Under cover Garda/ Special Branch
Stopping crimes from occurring in the first place is also a major part of their role but this is not happening to the extent it should be happening... Pretty Good capture by Gardai who are only there 00.1% of the time?? Taking Report and investigating yes they are different to a proactive force. I ...

Re: Under cover Garda/ Special Branch
Why is this thread entitled Undercover Garda/Special Branch? Increased from what? Zero? hmmm You are unaware of the crime stats, Gardai are in the village 3-4 times every day... taking reports of crime, making enquiries and responding to calls. I see them all the time. Plenty of unmarked cars too.

I emailed days ago and got no reply?
You haven't answered any of my valid questions or others' other than saying don't worry 'CCTV is our speciality' like some kind of tacky salesman.

...I have no problem having a camera following me down Main Street Donabate. All I do is buy groceries! What if you witnessed a crime on the main street? Say a bad assault happened right in front of you coming out of the grocery store? Would you be okay about being identified by locals/Gardai as a ...

Re: Community Crime
There are no restrictions in a public place - people can take out a camera and film anything... thats not the issue here. Identifying someone from footage is great, and perhaps you think thats it done and dusted but thats only the tip of the iceberg, the start of a long road of bringing someone to c...

Re: Community Crime
Im all for this! .... but just wondering have you talked with a legal person or Gardai about the legality of having a website where you show - 'crime' and the 'alleged' criminals. In this country they are innocent until proven guilty, there are also massive disclosure issues? A lot of cases don't ma...

Re: Crime In Donabate
Yes i know a few people who were burgled - guards caught em and got all their stuff back and they got jail. Doesn't happen enough. Sophia Housing or Hazelgrove as its also known as is directly across from the Donabate Community Centre on the road out to Portrane (on the right hand side) looks like a...

Re: Crime In Donabate
...No point in reporting to guards. There is every reason to report it, you can't moan about crime and then say they're no point in calling cops. When people report stuff the Gardai work a lot better!! When people dont report things - Guards will drive around aimlessly - they need tip offs, suspici...

Newflash guys - most 'junkies' etc get there methadone in any normal pharmacy/chemist Boots/McCabes/Hickey etc... A junkie is an extreme and noticeable example - a heroin user, most addicts don't catch peoples attention and are quite cleancut, respectable etc and you wouldn't think they are getting ...

Fix - Pave - Improve that eyesore of what people call the 'carpark' at the side of Smyths. Serve some decent food and have a coffee bar and cater for those commuting - waiting on trains etc... and it would be a goldmine! It ain't rocket science

I well believe the bible has stood the test of time... and is able to withstand any onslaught of criticism.
