Anyone know what's the story with the odd looking wires going across the road in places around the area ?

Theres one set just up from the petrol station and another near the community centre. There's a few others around also. They don't seem to be coming/going anywhere , just simply nailed down across the road.

I'm just wondering what their purpose is ?

I believe they measure the amount of traffic at each point.

Oh ok, just they don't seem to be attached to anything so I'd wondered.

They are used by air, and above post is correct measures the volume of traffic.
There is 2 rubber Tubes next to each other to also tell whether cars or lorries are going over them.

Generally traffic counts are carried out before a development commences to assess the before and after volumes of traffic and the potential impacts

micropoodle

i presume that before building those 99 housing units mentioned, Fingal County Council/An Bord Pleanala has ensured that the relevant infrastructure will be in place?

ring road
extra places in schools
retail units
larger train capacity
more frequent buses
etc
etc
etc

what's that I hear you say? they haven't?

nothing new here so
