Seems like a bit of planning had gone into this destruction so the motive behind this would be interesting.

Shocking to see though and whoever did it should be given a one way ticket to the sun

Unfortunately, not a surprise. When things in Ireland stand in the way of development, they get 'resolved'.
The 'developers' of these actions rarely if ever, get brought to justice.

This was inevitable.. When Political parties want to be the first with the news they do not think of the consequences..

Had The Labour representative for the area kept quiet about the find of the souterrain and not broadcast the find on Facebook and other social media until the proper authorities had a chance to protect the monument, thugs would now have probably known about it and it would still be in one piece.

I think it's unfair and misguided to blame anybody other than the perpetrators of this crime for what happened. The details of this find were on several Facebook pages and on social media. It still doesn't mean blame lies with anyone other than the person (or people) who did the damage.

That made me lol. The public representative should have hidden it from the public. Of course we don't actually blame the scum who had nothing better to do on a Saturday night. Unbelievable.
