Beverton Court Kitchen Floors

Hi
Am buying an apartment in Beverton Court and wondering about the kitchen floors.
It's a raised wood floor over concrete (about 3 inches above sitting room) and just wanted to check if anyone knows if there is a reason for this - i.e. pipes - before I get it pulled up and then have to rebuild it again if it is covering pipes or something else.
Anyone out there from Beverton Apartments?
