Opening of Scrumdiddlys

Hi all,

I've noticed that Scrumdiddly's re-opened this week. It was evident that the staff were being run off their feet, unable to social distance from each other whatsoever due to the small space inside. While there is tape outdoors and Perspex glass inside, the social distancing in the queue was questionable. I would be concerned that this will only get worse when the 5km radius is extended to 20km.

Completely unfair on the staff who have no adequate space to keep themselves safe, despite wearing masks! Also the queues are bound to get worse this weekend if previous years are anything to go by!

I would be glad to see Scrumdiddly's open their doors again WHEN APPROPRIATE, I know it is their livelihood, however safety has to come first.

I wonder has anyone else had the same experience?

Whilst I wish them the best as a successful local business, what the hell has prompted them to think they are in ‘Phase One’?

I’ve gone through the list, but don’t see ice cream mentioned.

Ice Cream as a "food" is phase 1. It was in one of the papers during the week

More of the same nonsense directed at something for the kids to do. The queues at An Bacus Beag are a mile long every morning, but the usual suspects don't mind as they like their fresh bread...

Jones garden centre had queus of over an hour the other day, not one peep about it? Poor children have been victimised during this whole panedmic , no school, no sports, no social outlets, not even a 99 due to narky old misery guts around here.

Bacus Beag has a 1 in 1 out policy and social distancing in the queue.

The feeling you get when all of the board members who previously posted 24/7 about the gangs of marauding youths that were standing outside SuperValu/standing on a green somewhere/walking in 'gangs'/where are their parents - have now all become Covidnazis overnight.

I bet they are only living here as a stop gap until they can move back to Malahide.
