A Local Area Plan is a legal document and is a public statement of planning policies. It is prepared in consultation with the local community and members of the public. It sets out a strategy for the Proper Planning and Sustainable Development of an area.

After much negotiation the community achieved a number of infrastructural improvements that were set down in the 2006 Local Area Plan.

In 2016, the council unanimously adopted a Local Area Plan which rowed back on a number of necessary improvements.

Some of these pieces of infrastructure that will not be delivered are;

Garda Station for Donabate
2006 LAP Yes
2016 LAP No

Upgrade Hearse Road to Dual Carriageway
2006 LAP Yes
2016 LAP No

Extend the graveyard
2006 LAP Yes
2016 LAP No

Shops in Ballymastone
2006 LAP Yes
2016 LAP No

Shops in Corballis
2006 LAP Yes
2016 LAP No

Do you think Fingal should have been allowed to short change us like this?
