We will be moving to the area soon.

I had a few questions regarding the Gallery apartments. I’d really appreciate your thoughts on the following:
A) What is the internet/speed like? Is it reliable? And is it only ‘magnet’ that provides it?
B) I read there were water leaks in the past- that have now been fixed. Have there been any more leaks since?
C) How often do power cuts occur? And how long does it usually last?
D) What are the noise levels like at night? Is it safe to walk to the apartments from the train station in the evenings?

Hi Rachel,

A/ Magnet provides a package @ 60Mb or 100Mb. They had a lot of issues last year (e.g. downtime / network congestion) but since few months they made few infrastructure improvements. I would say that the connectivity is now stable.
B/ No more issue as far as I know.
C/ Few power cuts, most of time the power is back within few hours.
D/ That will depend of your location the train could be a bit noisy. No train at night, except for maintenance which could be noisy as well. Also depending of wind direction or Standard Arrival Routes, you could have 2 or 3 incoming "low pass" transatlantic flights around 4-5AM. Apartments soundproofing could be better... The area is safe, I have also heard that CCTV will be improved soon.

In regards to the flights- I hope they are not so loud that they wake up babies :I
I also didn’t know about the CCTV- so thank you for mentioning that.

I'm considering of buying an apartment in The Gallery. I was thinking if someone could share any information about the this apartment complex. What is the quality of the apartments, is it safe area ( in case I buy a ground floor apt). Basically any information will be helpful.

Hi Peter,

So I’ve been staying at the Gallery apartment for the past few months. This is what I have experienced so far:

A) The Gallery is a family friendly area. You see parents walking with their little ones and the local residents passing a smile and nod when walking past. So overall nice friendly area

B)Carpark gets full very quickly in the evenings so if you plan to park close to your apartment then it’s worth coming home a little earlier. Also make sure you email the management company to send you a parking resident permit sticker or else your car will be clamped

C) Depending on which apartment you stay in...certain neighbours can be a little noisy ... they party, have arguments and it can all be heard. Problem is that you see them from time to time entering and leaving the building so addressing the problem directly might be a little tricky and awkward...especially if you don’t want to see them again lol

D) Power cuts happen often and it’s worse during bad weather and storms. So heads up! Same goes for internet. Otherwise WiFi is good.
