Hi all, I see there's a new mobile phone mast on the roof of the old post office opposite Smyths pub. I'm guessing it's 3 Ireland upgrading their network. Anyone on 3 notice any improvements to the coverage etc?

Ah, I was wondering why I was able to get a 4G signal since before Christmas with 3 :) .

I'd have 4G now most of the time with the signal occasionally dropping down to 3G. I'd use my phone mainly for downloading or streaming and have noticed the download speed is much faster lately. I don't use it much for phone calls so don't know if its better in that area much. Overall its an improvement over the signal I was getting over the last few years since I moved to the area.

I've little/no reception with 3 in Beresford. No change.

Same here in Somerton/Carr's Mill. My reception seems worse if anything. Only a few places in the house where I can attempt to make a phone call before getting disconnected.

Thanks for the feedback. Think I'll stay with Meteor/eir for moment!

New houses have a foil backed insulation slab attached to the inside of the walls and it prevents mobile signals getting through. If you have full reception outside your house and then a significant drop inside the house, then this is likely the cause. I suffer from the same.

Austy your compliant is a good one you dont want RF signals in your home. Theres a new mast in beaverstown golf club also. We should be concerned. Do the research.

Thought I'd revive this... Been with Eir for a very long time on mobile but now free of contract. They used to be a lot cheaper than others but not anymore (for my requirements). I've found their customer service leaves something to be desired (!). I'm in Somerton/Carr's Mill part of town. I'd like to be able to get reliable 4g in house to back up regularly-dropping Sky broadband. In fairness to Eir, signal down here has been fairly decent, if not brilliant. Anyone got experience of Vodafone and/or Three mobile 4g coverage this end of town?
Thanks, AC
