Train Station - Drop off

Rant alert! Why do drivers dropping people to the train station insist on stopping on the through way to the car park holding up cars getting to the car park.
For the sake of driving an extra 50 yards and pulling in after the ticket machines, what are they saving themselves?!
Some people have absolutely zero consideration of their actions.
