Okay so hearing Fingal CC are planning to develop 1,000 houses in the lands in Ballymastone - the heart of Donabate. 250 affordable, 250 free and 500 private. So, minimum 500 social and guessing the 500 private are going to be small, lower budget type. I think this flies in the face of national policy of 10% social & affordable. Realise that people need homes but surely it makes more sense to try and achieve 10% or for a council estate, make it small - 40 houses, not 500. 500 just won't work. Straight away you are into a few bad apples giving everyone a bad name and then no-one wants to live there or go near the place. Darndale, Ballymun etc etc What are people's thoughts?

According to the LAP “in order to promote and facilitate social integration, social and affordable housing should be integrated appropriately into the overall development of the lands so as to ensure there is no concentration of social housing in any one specific area or zone.” If FCC go over the 10% norm it's going against the very plan that they came up with! It's up to the residents here to keep questioning our TD's and local reps about this. Of course Donabate has to have social housing just like every town, village etc needs to.

Trains are full as it is. Usual Arse Elbow approach here by "planners" or fag packet ideas.
Money talks.

the LAP seems to be thrown out the window,

Economy on the rise, we're back in the loop. Nothing...Nothing learnt.

we have no regulation: it has failed again.perfect example:

in other parts of our peninsula, bankrupt property developers back in play, they dont care about areas. they want quick returns.

anyway...
