It appears there are too many humans on our planet.

One of the things you have to love about our sparcely populated fertile country. Bound to be seen as a liferaft in years to come.

Ireland is low by European standards but high by world standards.

When demand exceed resources an equilibrium will be reach usually by very painful methods or else species risk extinction.

I often wonder how much the human race is too clever for its own good. Scientific "advancement" such as cars and power stations are polluting the planet and possibly ruining it for future generations.

Medical science is prolonging our lives and putting further strain on the earth's already stretched resources. Something's going to break somewhere down the line and it won't be pretty.

Science is also where green energy comes from. The problem is too many people have a poor scientific understanding about the world's problems and think a few prayers to God is how you work your way through complicated matters. The more hammering of religion into young child minds and rewarding them for not thinking critically, the harder it is for them to think critically.

The problem is that green energy has a long way to go. Wind and solar energy can't complete with fossil fuel and nuclear energy. Electric cars will fall by the wayside as the batteries aren't up to the job and the technology isn't developing fast enough.

I think those that think a few prayers will sort it all out are thankfully becoming a minority.

Ken.
