Village arrivals

Seems to be swathes of blow-in youths arriving in village today. Any idea whats going on here?

Apart from teenage antics I suppose.

We need a better gardai presence here, as we already knew for years, Donabate easily accessible by train.

Noticed them driving through around 4 p.m. Seemed to be about 100 teenagers. According to the WhatsApp group, it's an organised fight with teenagers from Malahide and Blanchardstown

Seemingly the Guards are there now.

Fight with lads from Malawhite. Think the bate will win that one. Blanch probably a draw.

I asked one of the girls what was going on and she said it was 'Finglas vs Coolock'!! Presuming they came to Donabate as we have no garda station? I still cant believe what i saw, scary behavior from what looked like, 14-16 year olds...One guy I saw was holding a crow bar. Fair play to the Gardai, i dont know how they do what they do. Hoping something like that never happens again, felt very sorry for the elderly people and parents with young kids who were around the village at the time.

In an attempt to try and figure out what was going on, I went to the 'Donabate Village' facebook page. Here, the admin was passing on rumours that she heard they were all from Balbriggan. This comment was rightly derided and the post / discussion was then taken down. Thats exactly what I dislike about 'Donabate Village' - a site pupporting to be official but actually the work of an individual, complete with hairdressing appointments, walks on the beach and hubby updates. Repeating rumours on this occasion. Not classy.

I must be getting old and slow - I only heard second hand about this today. Were there any arrests?

donabate was chosen as a neutral point for the continuation of a row in Wright Venue the previous night or two. There were a number of arrests.

Don't be naive and think it was all "outsiders" that caused the mayhem. Our own were involved more than you think.....kids whose parents think they are whiter than white will soon realise that precious little "latch key" Johnny is not that little angel they thought.......

Something on the go again tonight apparently.

You'd think with the shite endless train delays they'd give up and just do a mash up on-line or a dance off or wotever.
