Did that Tesco wind turbine land from space overnight?

Is it true there's a Macari's' restaurant at the top of it?

Appeared yesterday. They obviously put the pylon up over the last few days unnoticed.

Don't know why we need these big wind yokes anyway. Do we not have enough wind in this country. It's a terrible waste of electricity.

I thought there would be restrictions on Wind Turbines near bird sanctuaries or nature/wildlife reserves.
Must look into that...

I'd doubt there is an issue or it wouldn't have got planning permission. It's far enough away from the sanctuary and has Turvey Road in-between.

I didn't hear anything about this back then, but then I suppose with all the other rubbish going on at that time, this must have slipped through unnoticed.

And

I have lived near a Tesco Distribution Center in the UK, painted dark green might I add.
I think their distribution center in Donabate should be painted a more natural and surround blending colour.
I journey to the UK monthly and get my bearings on approach to Dublin Airport when I see that monstrosity they call a building.

Now the Wind Turbine can be clearly seen across the estuary as you pass across on the Commuter.
What an eyesore.
My opinion Tesco are really not doing the environment much favours.

Took a trip through Newbridge earlier, only to see the westerly skyline interrupted by that big white thing.
And to think, there's a 2nd one on the way.

You can even see it from 200m inside the Hearse Road pedestrian entrance.

So nice of Tesco Ireland to destroy that scenery.
I am sure there are other wind turbines that they could fit on the roof of their massive building that would not disrupt the sky line, do not need planning permission and with multiple turbines, produce similar output at a fraction of the costs.
The attached picture is what I refer to.

I would much prefer if Tesco didn’t build so many energy efficient buildings in Ireland.

They built the first passive standard supermarket in Ireland. I've been to their “carbon Neutral” supermarket in Cabra... Its not cold in the freezer isles as the cool air produced is captured and used to cool other parts of the building. Some one should tell them that we prefer to waste energy here in Ireland.

They built another Supermarket in Tramore which uses 45% less energy than a supermarket of a similar size. Are they trying to show us up or something???

As for them using renewable energy in this instance I believe it is a disgrace.

They should really accept that here in Ireland we prefer to burn turf to make electricity. Whilst some might argue destroying unique habitat in order to produce dirty electricity & Co2 is actually idiotic, I say tough - again this is Ireland.

Maybe we could have a protest or something??
