Following the tragic event in our community the memorial service for Shetemi will take place in DPCC this Saturday. The funeral will arrive to the centre at 12 noon followed by a memorial service at 2pm and burial at Donabate Cemetery. People are encouraged to pay their respects to the family if they wish to do so between 12 noon and 2pm, they will be able to file in to the hall and meet family members briefly.

We expect a very large number of people to come to Donabate to pay tribute to this very special young man. We ask, where possible, for people to walk to the centre. There will no parking at DPCC other than for family or people with disabilities. Visitors coming to Donabate will be directed to parking at the Catholic Church (until 6pm), the Scout Den and to St Patrick’s National Schools. Buses will be directed to DPETNS for parking and parking in the Community College is reserved for helpers only.

There will be seats for roughly 400 people in the hall only. It will not be possible to accommodate everyone who wants to attend inside the hall, however, outdoor speakers will be in place to allow mourners outside the hall to listen to the service. We ask for your understanding on this matter.

Friends and family of Shetemi are welcome to Donabate Community College after the ceremony for light refreshments and an opportunity to support each other. We anticipate a large group of people and ask our community to help us in the provision of food (eg a plate of sandwiches/buns/cakes). Food donations can be dropped to Donabate Community College between 9 and 11 am on Saturday morning.

The family have requested that this should be a colourful celebration of Shetemi’s life – we ask people to dress accordingly -there is no need to wear black!
