A pair of runners/shoes hanging from the powerlines just as you turn onto the beaverstown road. Not a great image folks as it's generally a sign for a drug dealer in the area (of which we have loads)

Here we go again with the hanging and dangling of items. Tacky.

Relax Essex Boy, there's plenty of room for a bit of middle class values in the area. The gene pool is getter better - let's keep it that way.

So if I'm looking for a bit of gear and I see the runners on the powerlines, what am I supposed to do next exactly?

Do the shoes swing in the direction of the dealers house? Is he a dodgy looking character standing under the pole? Is there a house nearby with a 'Drugs 'R' Us' sign up?

Never quite understood that bit of urban lore.

Why only this week I was saying to Mrs. Serio that I haven't seen the local dealer around in ages. Anyone know where he's gone? Probably not far without his shoes.

No Garda station, no bakery and now we don't even have a drug dealer. Donabate is going downhill at a rapid rate.

A bakery, we have the lovely SV...
Agree with yo Ken a decent bakery would be great, can't beat fresh bread in the morning!

Not so fast Ken, we don't have a pigeon club.

Ah yes Essex, you can't beat Musgraves for processed breads and cakes.

Actually, with all this warm weather, I've been able to grow my own out the back.

You can get a DIY kit in B&Q Amsterdam.

Yes, IKEA were going to offer a competing product here. Undercutting the local distribution outlets. Until the feckin Guards showed up.

Talking of shoes, that reminds me of what the great bard Billy Connolly said:

Never judge a person until you have walked a mile in their shoes and then you don't have to give a damn as you have their shoes and they are a mile away
