My guess is that they would need planning permission to use the land for motor sport. I'm not aware of any application for change of use.

That's why as many people as possible should query with FCC.

I would suggest anyone discommoded by this, get on to Henchy. He sends out a regular newsletter regarding matters in the Peninsula and things he is making progress on. If enough people contact him, he will get something sorted about this. Also, if someone figures out he owns that land, maybe send on the details so we can ask him to stop this. Doesn't matter if it is privately owned there are laws against noise pollution and he could get himself a few Solicitors letters. I don't know how Waterleaf houses put up with this. Today you could here all over Donabate for four or five hours. My understanding is you can take the owner to District Court for a small fee see here:

You can't create a noise that is unreasonable. see: http://www.citizensinformation.ie/en/en ... tions.html

Doesn't matter if the bikers have permission (seriously doubt it).

After doing abit of digging. It looks like turvey land is open for membership. 50 for the month and that gives you access to everything. Including access to all of the park.

I'm guessing this ex pga golf pro has got the lads to sign a waiver and is allowing them race on the land. .

a search for that number shows that he is trying to generate interest in motorcross on those lands in a big way.

question is, does he have permission to allow that?
great way to alienate the locals

The ISIS base is awesome, so realistic the way they disguised it as a heap of crap.

The file attached is from the council. Anyone who wants to lodge a complaint should fill it in and send it, the council will then open an investigation into the use of the land.

I am not an expert on these matters but I think you only complain about planning enforcement if he is actually building something. But he is not. They just seem to be using the course as is. Again, I am not an expert here. But, anyway, this is pretty serious. Look at this track in Mulhuddart. Right beside a residential area:

I think the way to get these sorted is by going this route: http://www.citizensinformation.ie/en/en ... tions.html

Mr Stupid, see Planning permission for "material change of use" section of
http://www.citizensinformation.ie/en/ho ... house.html

"If you want to make a material (that is, substantial) change to the use of land or buildings which will have an actual or potential impact on neighbours or the local community, then you will need planning permission."

So raising objections with the EHO and planning are both valid approaches and both should be done

There is a lot of mixed opinions on this topic, i can understand why the local people are complaining and it is completely understandable, if there were bikes going outside my house everyday i would be complaining about it too, but i think it is unfair to shut the place down completely as well and stop people from being able to use such a fantastic area for going on there bikes, i think it should be regulated correctly and designated times and dates be laid out for it, for example if it was to be ran and organised to be only used on a sunday evening once a month for 4 hours from 2-6, i don't think that is a big issue and is something that should be looked at, i would think that most normal people would have no problem with that, bar the few pricks on this that are going on about the animal preserve, who actually couldnt care less about the animal, you are all a disgrace

There's not much room for compromise. It's a residential area - where thousands live. It's also beside a nature preserve and disrupting that as well - especially this time of year.

You're welcome here Stephen and entitled to your opinion like everyone else. However, it's possible to put it across without abusing others.
