We should all start posting up how difficult it is to break into Donabate, It's just not worth the hassle.

My problem has always been the rapid packs of Rottweilers that roam the estates at night-time. Who'd wanna run into them..

Don't forget people, subs for 2015 Donabaters vigilante group due this Friday. Fundraiser planned March 17th on the old Educate Together site. Prizes on the night include a bat with nails in it and a mystery tour in mad mike's white Hi-ace.

Fantastic news. Perhaps deserves its own thread?

I live in The Priory, hadn't used my car since Saturday night and this morning (Monday) found the contents of the glove compartment scattered over the passenger seat. Nothing missing that I can see. There was nothing of value to take. My Penneys gloves and sun glasses were of no interest. I don't think they even looked in the boot. Maybe they were disturbed.

i presume that's a joke!
if the armed robbers were reading this site before deciding to armed rob then surely they would have spotted the long thread about high quality CCTV in the village
Regardless of that, heard there was a armed robbery round 5 on Saturday at the Supervalue!!
A bit worrying!!

I saw it mentioned on What's App, but did anyone corroborate it? I was in there around 5.30 p.m. on Saturday and there was no sign of a problem. I was also back down in the village around 6.15 p.m. and all was quiet.

Local Councillor Adrian Henchy mentioned the recent incidents of local crime on his fb page (see link below)

It definitely happened alright, was told the details by a member of staff.

I was in Supervalu when it happened just before 16:45 - Extremely scary!!! One guy in a hoody with a scarf over his face who supposedly had a gun(although I ran down the isle and didn't see it!) and supposedly another guy with some kind of meat cleaver thing!!! My heart went out to the cashier...

This is frightening. Does anyone know were they caught or is there going to be extra gardai surveillance in the village, etc.?

We have already had a great response to the site, with numerous people registering for full membership from Donabate / Portage.
Has the camera helped out in anyway since it was deployed?
