So I see Virgin Media are cancelling their TV service (formerly UPC) from April to parts of Donabate. Can anyone recommend a decent alternative? Bundles from Eir seem decent enough - are the claimed broadband speeds accurate?
Thanks

i think its just the old MMDS service they are cancelling. You may already know that of course!
Depends where you are in relation to the local Exchange and what the quality of the cabling is like.Neptune wrote:Bundles from Eir seem decent enough - are the claimed broadband speeds accurate?

Exchange is near Credit Union on opposite side of the road.
Eir are offering pretty good deals at present.
I've just switched to them from Vodafone (ex BT Ireland customer and staff).

Do you happen to have a list of areas where this is about to happen?

Yeah, news to me also.
Would you mind pasting a link to the story.

The link Ann O pasted is similar to what was sent to me in the post from Virgin. It may only affect Somerton/Carrs Mill exchange. Be interested to hear if VM are cancelling their service to other estates also. I believe Vodafone are to start offering a TV service in February, so that could be a third option.
