Portrane Beach Coastal Erosion 10 Feet in 24 Hrs
I've just driven up to Tower Bay and the sea swell is terrifying. At Tower Bay the waves are lashing over the rocks onto the car park and on the Portrane Beach the damage being done has to be catastrophic. I've tried to call Fingal Co Co but cannot get through to their switchboard as I am not sure what Department I should be looking for. I will keep trying and maybe others could try too please? Something extremely urgent needs to be done to stop some of the houses on Portrane Beach being swamped.

Hi,
Reminder:
There is a public meeting on thie issue of beach erosion at Portrane at 8.30pm tonight in the Brook pub, Portrane. All welcome.
Also,
We would really appreciate any help for this Saturday, May 18th, to continue protective work along the dunes at Healys Lane. 10am - 1pm. Please bring along a shovel. There has been a brilliant community spirit on previous work days, so come along and join your neighbours in helping preserve a most important amenity, habitat and defence.
Thank you and hope to see you there.

Inviting all Portrane & Donabate residents to join us for more restorative work on the dunes this coming Saturday, 15th June. Attached is a poster with the details which we're distributing around the area.
In brief we are meeting at 10am on Saturday at the Beach access point, Healy's Lane, and work will continue until about 1pm. If you can spare the full morning, or just an hour, any effort at all would be very welcome. If you are coming along, bring a shovel if you have one.
Hope to see you there....you never know, the sun might still be shining
