Hi all,

Recently got a new kitten and need to find a local Vet as my previous Vet is based in Fairview - too far to travel. Anyone got recommendations? Ideal if they also have boarding option as need to plan for future holidays!

Thanks

Only ever brought our mut to get groomed in Lissenhall on the way to swords but thought it was pretty good. They sedated her once they saw she gets a bit edgy instead of letting her get all worked up.

Cheers Bill - knew of that one from driving past so was wondering what it was like.

I've been going to O'Scanill's for five years with my cats. I think they are wonderful and don't rip you off. Don't know if they do boarding.i have never been to Lissenhall so can't comment.

We've been going to O'scannails for years, wouldn't take our dogs anywhere else... Connor & team are fantastic.. They have gone over and above what u would expect when our dog was coming to the end of his days. Facilitated family at the crack of dawn on a Sunday morning.

We use Lissenhall as well for our vet needs, which so far have only been vaccinations.

As for the boarding, my understanding is that they have upgraded recently. When we went in for a look a few years earlier, you were basically leaving your cat in a masonry box for a couple of weeks. As this did not appeal to us. We found Cattery Cottage (http://www.catterycottage.com) and have never looked back. It is a bit of a trip to get there, but absolutely worth it. Plenty of space, protected access to outdoors and a lovely cat-mad lady to look after hem :) And you get photo updates on facebook/e-mail, so you can holiday at absolute peace. We call it her cat spa :)))

Cheers everyone! Took the newbie to Lissenhall this morning and got her vaccinated and checked over - thought it was reasonably priced and saw the cattery which looked good (only looked in - didn't go in). Had made the booking before I saw the multiple great refs for O'Scannails so might try there too once initial vaccinations done. Thanks again.

We have used Lissenhall vets for our beloved greyhound. They were so helpful to us especially when we had to let her pass due to cancer. Dennis and crew are to be highly commended on their care to our dog and us when the time came. Couldn't fault them in any way.
