Hi my washing machine has stopped working. It had been working properly and when I went to turn on a new wash it would not start. The lights are lighting but that is all. I've tried re-setting it and also unplugging it for a while but to no avail. Can anyone recommend a repairer please?

Many thanks

Hi Loraine

If you look at the notice board in the post office, there is a guy there who repairs all domestic appliances, I haven't used him myself but a neighbour has and said not only is he good, but very reasonable. Hope that helps.

Moved to general discussion. If you find someone you'd recommend, update this thread and we'll move it to the services section ;)

Hi

took that number from the Post Office. Unfortunately Sean was not able to help me but I found him very honest and willing to do what he could. I've suggested that he put an advert on here for others but in the meantime his name is Sean from North Dublin Appliance Repairs and his number is 086 3619959.

Quite often the problem is a water pump blockage (built up fluff, small coins etc.). Is there a filter that you can check? Otherwise tip the machine on to it's face on to a blanket. Underneath there shold be a thick black rubber hose leading into a box of some description. Detach the hose and check in the collection box. Worth a try.

For Washing Machine and Cooker repairs you can't do better than
Chris Burnby in Swords, his no. is 8408887.
He has sorted us out several times.

Patrick Driscoll is awesome... he's just repaired our dishwasher. Friendly, on time and reasonable. His website is at www.driscollrepairs.com

We have used Patrick a number of times - always delivers and I felt for a fair price.
