Water Softener / Water Filter

I'm wondering if anyone's had any recent experience getting water filter/softener fitted to the house?

Celtic Water Solutions can do it in 4-5 days.
No word back from EWT yet.

Just came on here to ask the same thing.
If anyone has any recommendations on who they went with it would be much appreciated, We are looking for a filter system for both our drinking water and appliances. Feel like the water has gotten particularly bad in recent months
