Trains noise

Hi,

It's probably a usual and recurring question but I didn't find any recent topic about this.

I just would like to know if trains noise level is acceptable when you leave near the train station.

Yes the noise is fine and something one adjusts to easily over time. No different than living near an Airport.

I live in Gallery beside station. Cant say it bothers me at all. Only time i notice is if i'm at my car which car park is beside tracks and an express train flies by ...it might give you a fright.

Stayed in a friends house for a few nights right beside the track and can't say I noticed it. Am a light sleeper too so no don't think it's a problem.

Having lived in Portmarnock before moving to the Gallery, the sound of the trains is far easier to get used to than flights coming into the airport. It passes by in a few seconds, planes landing have a rising and falling sound that can be very frustrating! Also, the last train is at midnight, first is at 6.40am, so no noise at night (apart from the odd bank holiday when there is maintenance)

Used to live at the Gallery overlooking the tracks.
Now live in village center.
Could hear the trains, but never bothered me.

You do get used to them if they run late at night when it's quiet.

Track maintenance or engineering works might stand out as access to tracks is at far end of the station's eastern car-park, but is infrequent.

You'll get more noise from the odd plane overhead in poor flying conditions, or a car with a loud exhaust.

If you're moving near the tracks, you'll be treated to an exclusive view of the old steam train on occasion.
