Here's a taxi upside down in the wall at the accident black spot. Maybe the road should be fixed ,bit of land purchased and bend softened rather than people nearly dying?

I know speed is a factor, but it also makes me question the quality of tyres on the market today. Go into any tyre fitter and you'll see racks of cheap Chinese tyres. They are one thing that I don't skimp on with my car.

Maybe people should just slow down when coming in to corners the signs are there, why to people blame everything but the driver.

There was an accident at that same corner a few weeks ago. Two cars involved. I remember seeing the woman involved saying on social media that she was travelling under the speed limit.

That bend constantly seems to have a stream of mud on it coming from a property at that corner so maybe that could be a contributing factor?

That's crap. The driver took the bend too fast. There's warning signs there now. What more is needed?? There's been accidents at that bend for donkeys years and it's all down to bad drivers driving too fast. As regards the driver in the previous accident saying she was under the speed limit, well 79km/hr is under the speed limit but is way too fast to take that corner. Every time there is an accident there it is always human error. Always!!!

I'm not saying that the accident in the early hours of yesterday morning was caused by road debris. But there is regularly a lot of debris at that corner which can make the road extra slippy.

Of course everyone should take heed and drop their speed right down, especially because of debris and greasy road surfaces.

Had a look at it again this morning. Was the car heading to or from Donabate? It's hard to picture how it ended up where it is and there seems to be very little other damage to the wall.

Some details here. Not much more than we already know. Seemingly only the driver was in the car according to this. Heard on WhatsApp that there was a female passenger but not according to this.

No accidents on the Portrane Road why, because there are several ramps. Put a ramp before that bend and the problem will be solved.

That bend needs to be amended. Depends what your driving, but a average family saloon will not make it through there at 80 km/ph, you'll have to be about 3 or 4 foot over the white line.

Can Fingal County Council not use some of it's property tax money on infrastructure that it is getting from the Ex-Tesco warehouse building ("the largest building in Ireland") to fund a compulsory purchase order for a few feet of road widening? Or is this a government priority (being a R road) seeing that they are giving us the state of the art "Central Mental Hospital"?

Where is our councilors on this? Come on you guys, that bend has always been an problem, ever since I am sure you guys can remember!
