Were moving into the area and would be interested in this for sure
Just seen this post now and I'd also be interested in open water in Donabate/Portrane and know one or two others that may be interested so might be an idea to get something going.
The closest groups I'm aware of is The Skerries Frosties and the Eastern Bay (Malahide/Portmarnock) both groups meet every weekend and have Facebook pages.

I swim open water around the area when i have time. It would be great to have a group to swim with.I swim around tower bay and the cliff walk mostly depending on wind and tide conditions. Its fairly safe the only real current runs around the headland off Lambay side of towerbay.
Great to hear a few bodies looking for a dip - pity the weather has taken a turn for the worse. Now the open water season is (sort of) finished, what plans have folk got for the off season. Maybe we could get a swim session going in a pool - I'm in Sportslink myself
I went for a test swim at Tower Bay earlier and it seemed promising. Water gets deep quick and stayed calm and still. Used a cheap short leg and arm wet suit and it was ok, although could have done with a hood.
If anyone fancies going for a short trial swim along the coast during the week let me know, would be good to do this with two or three if possible.
