Hi folks, has anyone an old large kennel currently unused that they'd consider selling for a reasonable price. Our puppy is an indoor dog but would like to have an option outside for him to get used too. He'll be large when fully grown.

You might have a problem with this: not with the kennel but with your dog!

We've given away kennels before in perfect nick but the scent from the original dog deterred the other dog from sleeping in it. Washing and power hosing made no difference. The kennels ended up being dumped and new kennels had to be bought. If you buy a second hand kennel, you might be wasting your money.

We bought our current kennels made to order from a chap advertising on done deal. I can't remember his name or number but I know he's based in Finglas and was very reasonable.

Thank you, I hadn't thought of that but it makes perfect sense!

I'm told that biological washing power is that only thing will get rid of a dog's scent. Normal washing powder or even bleach won't work. (Source: Dog behaviour specialist we consulted, who was right about everything else!)
