Can someone enlighten me as to why it seems that they are just widening the footpath at the approach to the Cominity Centre?
I thought it would be road widening, as it was shown in the Cominity Council's observation to the new hospital project that the road falls well below recommended width.
Maybe we are to drive on the footpath when a articulated truck for the hospital building project approach us, hmm there is reinforced steel going in so it will probably hold.

It may be in the 'Plan' but I'm unsure how the road could be widened along there as there are houses on both sides along the way, then Somerton and other estates. I welcome the path widening for the kids at schooltimes. I've nearly had the ole ears clipped by a bus mirror a few times walking along there.

I know what you mean Pat, I think the road widening is only for the stretch from the St. Michaels house corner to the bus stop at the Cominity Centre and then for the Portrane road as you leave the gates of St Pats ga towards Portrane.
