Re: Cycleway to Malahide Progress
Is there any reason why it doesnt connect the two villages/train stations? Was really hoping to be able to use this to access the DART in the mornings/evenings instead of waiting around for ages for a commuter train or having to transfer between trains and to be able to cycle to the bank etc as the ...

Re: What does Donabate / Portrane need?
Would love to see better cycling infrastructure around the village, to Swords and the opening of the greenway to Malahide. Also, having the trains going back to pearse again would be really great. There are a lot of people in cars unnecessarily I feel around the village. People going to the shops et...

Laptop repair
Wondering if anyone could recommend a good reliable laptop repair service nearby ( will consider suggestions too for city centre but local area preferable) ? I've a windows 7 laptop that needs the fan fixed/overheating issues, to be sped up a little bit and have the battery replaced. If anyone has a...

Re: Beverton - Fireplaces suitable for Open Fire?
We've an open fire here in Beverton. It was a gas one like yours and we changed it to a regular one a few years ago while doing renovations. It was just a simple remove the gas fire and cap the gas line for us.

Re: Bird Scarer Again
I heard it last night too and thought it was fireworks the first few times though after that it became obvious what it was. Doesn't bother me too much as I sleep like a log but it does seem silly to have it going off at night unless theres been a sudden upsurge in radioactive mutant zombie crows all...

Yeah but one can dream right ?Ah-Yeah, some good ideas there, but I doubt they will be put into place until well after the council estates are built.
When are the proposed council estates planned to be built and where ?

Wires across road
Anyone know what's the story with the odd looking wires going across the road in places around the area ? Theres one set just up from the petrol station and another near the community centre. There's a few others around also. They don't seem to be coming/going anywhere , just simply nailed down acro...

Re: Why is the School Still used as a Voting Centre
Primary school kids would still have the same amount of days in school regardless. The department sets out the requirement for how many days they need to be in school so if they didn't take the day off voting, they'd get the day off at another stage for something else.

Re: Malahide Walkway
Why couldn't the walkway/cycleway be run directly from the village alongside the railway. There's a similar set up in Balbriggan that goes over the aqueduct and it works quite well (though it doesn't go for as long as the Malahide one would) Just as like another poster said it would be safer in the ...

Re: Giro d'Italia
Since it says the herse rd and R132 to swords/lissenhall will be closed does this mean the slipway to the M1 will be closed also ? Or will it just be the road to Swords that will be closed ?

Burglary tagging
Probably just being a bit hysterical/paranoid but given the recent spate of car thefts around the village it doesn't hurt to be cautious, especially this close to Christmas. Living in Beverton and on my way home today and I noticed a few of the houses on their boundary walls outside the garden have ...

Re: Portane's Greatest Assett..
One of the families that own/live in pipers had a lovely massive gorgeous rottweiler. But it had a heart attack and sadly passed away after being tormented one too many times by undesirables with bangers one halloween. So if they can do that to a poor dog I really don't think another one would deter...

Re: Portane's Greatest Assett..
Reason Pipers doesn't have windows facing the sea is because instead of the sea you'd be looking into the families that run it downstairs bedrooms and main bathroom (with lovely whirlpool bath that I suppose you could pretend was the sea ;) ) I also imagine that while re doing the new chipper planni...
