Re: Community Meeting - Beverton Gate - Wednesday 7th February

Thanks for the update Patrick. I'm delighted there was a big turnout, hopefully this signals a change on the horizon.

Re: Beverton Gate

I completely agree. We need a change of councillors ASAP. The fact that the Community Council has now been, more or less, taken over by FF is very bad news for the area. On the issue if the gate it should be abolished and a 24 hour right of way established. If we can get a big attendance at the meet...

Re: Donabate Dexter no More?

I think that site would be ideal for a nursing home and retirement village. Plenty of grounds around it and just off the main road for visitors.

Re: Donapoop, the town of dog poop..and uncivilized dog owners

It's a disgrace. I'm a dog owner and always pick up after my dog and dispose of it properly. The amount of dog poo bags thrown into bushes, left on walls and hanging off trees is unbelievable. I mean, if you've gone to the trouble of picking it up, at least put it in a bin and, if there's no bin, br...

There's a planned outage tomorrow from 11am that's going ahead despite being without water for that past two days.

Re: Desecration of Donabate Historical Location

I think it's unfair and misguided to blame anybody other than the perpetrators of this crime for what happened. The details of this find were on several Facebook pages and on social media. It still doesn't mean blame lies with anyone other than the person (or people) who did the damage.

I've just seen a post on Donabate Village Facebook page from the mother of the boy rescued. She is trying to contact all who helped. He did survive thanks to the help of your friend and others that day.

Re: Dumping on Beaverstown Road

Very annoying to see this happening. I'm always amazed at how little people care about their environment. I've been behind several drivers who have chucked empty cans, coffee cups, sweet wrappers etc out of car windows while driving.

Temporary home for dog required

Bit of a long shot here. A friend has had to move out of her home for six months and is staying with family. Unfortunately someone in the household has an allergy to dogs so she needs to temporarily rehome her springer spaniel until she can move back in. Would anyone one know a dog lover available t...

Re: What is that BANGING noise that hasn't stopped for DAYS

It's right beside a private residence on the junction of the New Road and Distributor Road. The residents are driven mad with it and the council don't seem to care. There was supposed to be proper sound proofing installed, instead there's a bit if green gauze attached to a metal fence. When the bang...

Another responsible dog owner here who is sick of stepping into other people's dog sh*t. There's also a problem in the estate next to me where dogs are allowed out to roam freely and sh*t where they please.

If you can't wear a mask, you can wear a visor. There's no excuses.

It's the same in all estates from what I can see. I'm a dog owner and always clean up after my dog but we all get tarred with the same brush because of the irresponsible few.

Yes, I don't think it would be a typical location for an Aldi or Lidl. Now the spot beside the Maxol garage at the roundabout on the main road would be ideal...

Re: Lack of mask wearing starting to creep in

Like others have said, have also had issues with Maxol. I wrote to them and asked them to sort these problems out and they didn't so don't go. Suggest others write and give out. While we are on the topic. 50% of joggers are very good. The other 50% are shocking. Expecting others to get out of their...

Re: Lack of mask wearing starting to creep in

According to the Citizens Information website it is "mandatory for retail staff to wear a face covering unless there is a partition or they take all reasonable steps to keep a 2-metre distance from others". If I'm thinking of the same place you're referring to, there is no room for a 2 met...

Re: Lack of mask wearing starting to creep in

I'm just back from Maxol. Three customers and at least one staff member with no masks. Not a word said to anyone. I won't be getting my fuel there any more and I'll be e-mailing them about it. It's just not good enough.
