I believe its to prevent the caravans that are currently located on the new road from entering due to problems on a previous visit.

Re: Corballis East/Ballymastone developments
just having a gander on Daft.ie for a relative who's also interested in buying in Donabate, I see 22 houses still up for sale in Semple Woods, they've been on the market for some time, but at close to half a million, they are probably out of range for alot of people. No idea of the other up and comi...

Re: Supermarket On Turvey
Sorry Bateboy, don't agree with you at all, we live in a democracy and I'm afraid, while the individuals name is clearly visible on the objection, your post smells of a personal grudge and an attempt to rally the village against him. I think at this stage, we are all desperate for another supermarke...

Re: Development works in Donabate
Have to agree with you, can't get my head around that they would build the badly needed 2nd supermarket on one of the narrowest stretches of road in the village.

Re: Development works in Donabate
As people have pointed out, there is no commencement notice which is disappointing so it's either just a clean prior to commencement or getting ready to sell it

Re: Help Stop the Tsunami of Unsustainable Development
"and there should be more developments like it everywhere, in particular in towns with train stations " I don't know about you, but I get the train to work every day and the trains are jammed, and for the life of me, I can't understand why all these homes are being allowed to be built when...

Re: Help Stop the Tsunami of Unsustainable Development
Small donation done and I really hope people in the village get behind this. I see that Councillor Paul Mulville has allocated €1000 so fair play to him. 1400 dwellings is crazy given the current infrastructure, I get the train into work and they are nearly always jammed by the time it gets to Donab...

Re: Aldi Planning Permission for Donabate
It must be close on a year that Tesco got planning permission for the site up by the train station, assume they haven't started to build due to ever increasing costs ?

Re: Aldi Planning Permission for Donabate
Goodness, just heard from a neighbour that it is Tesco that has planning permission for the Supermarket on the site beside the train station and approx 150metres down the road Aldi are applying for planning, well to say I'm shocked is an understatement, that road is going to become a carpark

Re: Aldi Planning Permission for Donabate
Ah ok, but clearly whoever was going to build a convenience store there has decided not to proceed. Yes, I agree with you 100%, the Aldi shop would be better placed on the distributor Road, much better access etc. Turvey Avenue will become a complete bottleneck. I would love to get into the minds of...

Re: Aldi Planning Permission for Donabate
It brought a wry smile to my face when I read the Date they lodged the application, 23rd of December ! So only another week or so for people to object. Listen, I think we all agree that we badly need another supermarket, I do think it's sad for any building in that field and I really hope that ...

Re: Cohort 7, Covid Vaccine
Yes, it would appear that are differences between the 2 GP practices, as a family member is in one and I in the other, maybe this is down to supply/interpretation of guidelines etc, do I feel let down by the GP practice, absolutely but it was my day to register with the HSE, so I've done that. Hope ...

Re: Cohort 7, Covid Vaccine
Nope, definately in cohort 7, rang GP and was told they are still doing the over 70's, so decided to ring the HSE and they were rather surprised given my medical condition and told me to ring GP back, didnt bother tbh. Anyway, will be able to register shortly due to my age.

Yes agree with spider, its not your typical site for an aldi or lidl, I thought that it was more of a convenience store like a spar that was opening

Re: Newbridge farm animals blocked from view
If this is due to people feeding the animals, why didnt they just put up another fence say 1 foot in from the original fence, using same type of wire fencing and then peoples views of the animals wouldnt be obstructed ???

Re: Destruction of tress in Newbridge Demesne
I was walking in Newbridge yesterday and near where the 'new' gate is and to the right of the house, there were a number of new trees being planted which I suppose is great to see. Although the area in front of the main gate does look a bit butchered at the moment, I actually like to see the wall be...

I think I must be missing something obvious but I can't see any option for displaying time and dates for when items were posted. Is it me or a forum thing?

Re: Fibre Broadband
Yeah, seems to only be Sky customers, I would wonder if someone's pressed a wrong button somewhere!
Taken 36 hours so far though and still no clue as to when it'll be back, just reading the T&C s and am surprised it mentions 10 working days! for fault resolution.

With Sky for fiber broadband, haven't any access since early Thursday, so feeling somewhat peeved. Anyone else off and what story are Sky giving you? They're telling me it's a network outage due to Eir but Eir are saying it's not them, feel like I'm between a rock and a hard place with no resolution...
