Re: Lack of mask wearing starting to creep in

Whilst entering Supervalu from the carpark two workmen, wearing Castlerock high vis jackets walked in front of me at around 1330 today ignoring social distancing and not wearing any face covering albeit mask or shield One of the two actually spat on the ground right by the door entrance. I felt like...

Re: New road Settlers

So with Dublin in Level 3 lockdown travelling communities are let travel around, set up wherever they can or choose. Now there are talks of a Nationwide level 5 lockdown. These travelling communities need to move away from the peninsular where we can lockdown safely without risk of unknowns. Now mor...

Re: Yet Another Power Cut

It does seem coincidental that during the Covid-19 lockdown period this year that there were hardly, if at all, any power or water outages. Now that lockdown is being lifted and construction works have started again, outages occur. You would think that with more people working from home, the demand ...

Re: Cycling the Bypass

It's all a matter of speed and safety. I cycle as fast as I can and do not like to have to slow down for cyclists that weave around a cycle and footpath, but some paths you have no choice but to. So when I get to an open road such as the new bypass, I will use the road as I will be travelling at spe...

Re: 144 New apartments on Turvey

I don't think people living in The Gallery realise that during winter months, they will get no direct sunlight on a cloudless day as the sun will be behind the 5 floor buildings. It's bad enough with the suspected construction entrance at the unmarked crossing on Turvey Ave. It's going to wreck the ...

Have also found new products appearing with no price or product label on shelf. One of these was fire logs. And to get the price checked would have meant queuing twice. Having worked in retail I have witnessed this store make far too many mistakes and would be subject to multiple fines under the Sal...

If you already have a bike, you can get a cheap turbo trainer and tyre.
The latter is required as a normal tyre on a turbo trainer will shred rubber everywhere

Re: Corona Virus

There are as many bad and inconsiderate pedestrians out there as there are cyclists and joggers (before this social distancing) I've had to step off a footpath onto a freshly seeded grass area in Newbridge House because a group of pedestrians did not deem it worthy to move over a little and let some...

So, lockdown until 12th of April. Sad that it's come to this, but people just don't grasp the magnitude of this and claim we are being over zealous when telling people to stay at home. Now the government tells you, will you listen? There's enough shite on TV. Twitter, Facebook and many other social ...

A cough can travel up to 6 meters, a sneeze over 8 meters and droplets active for over 10 minutes But we are being "advised" that during this Covid-19 crisis we should stay 2 meters apart. And people think it is safe to go to public spaces where winds can carry contaminants further. Sympto...

Everyone should treat this like a Zombie Apocalypse, but without killing each other or panic buying. Stay at home and only go out when necessary. Going to the park, beach or social visiting friends or family is not necessary whereas going to the Doctors, pharmacy or food shops is. To quote Piers Mor...

Might be ground water, but it's water and you'll have to boil it anyway

It's ironic, we also get water outages that should lead to boil water notices.
In this day and age, we pay for and suffer these outages that one would expect in Tristan da Cunha

So we have a General Election coming up. I hope we do not have the same eye scratching zip tied posters on nearly every post around the peninsula, or have them placed where can distract drivers. There should be nothing but road signs along Hearse Road, there's enough incorrect signage related to roa...

I'd say another couple of years. Due to condition of roads and personal safety sharing roads with construction traffic, I have given up cycling around the peninsular. I grew up in London so am very used to bad roads and drivers, but I've had far too many near misses. It takes the pleasure out of cyc...

If anywhere, should be a raised crossing at the Pelican crossing on Main Street.
This would also remove the puddle (when rains) at said crossing

Re: Public Meeting - Planning Moratorium - Tuesday 26th

Any chance in getting this raised again considering recent destruction of hedgerows on New Road, and the disruption caused by road resurfacing? There's enough construction going on at present on the peninsular, there should not be any more added until at least one of the current projects is completed.
