Re: Freezer fan going
If you get the model no. of the freezer or the part number from the fan, you should be able to look it up and purchase on-line. A lot of that stuff is easy enough to replace yourself if you're DIY inclined.

Roofer Wanted
Hi, Got the name of a roofer a while back on another thread. His name was Alan and he did some work for us, he was great. However, the last time I contacted him, he was sick and awaiting a hospital appointment. I've tried contacting him a couple of times since but didn't get a response. Does anyone ...

Re: Flagman on Bike Swords
He is. Saw him going past the fire station during the week. It was particularly windy, so he had the flag tied up to aid aerodynamics.
He lives in a cottage on the road off the Tesco roundabout that goes up Ballyboghall direction.

Not Rahillion by any chance? Petrocelli built his house quicker than the developer finished that estate.

Re: 33B Service
It was mentioned on one of the Councilors Facebook pages a few weeks back. Seemingly the company that run the service are short staffed. They say they are currently training new drivers that takes about 6 weeks so the issues should only be temporary. The problems were buses not turning up as schedul...

Re: Aldi Planning Permission for Donabate
I can't as I didn't put in an observation. I checked and most people had made similar points to the ones I would have made. I've appealed decisions to ABP in the past. It's expensive and I've had no success.

Re: Aldi Planning Permission for Donabate
According to Adrian Henchy on Facebook, planning permission has been granted to Aldi on this site. Seems incredible given the location and that Aldi use articulated lorries for deliveries. The Distributor Road would have been a far more suitable location.

I can absolutely confirm the bin is full and has been since early in the week. I presume Fingal realise that they have to empty it every now and then.

Re: Internet / Broadband
No, was very straight forward. They did warn us that there is a conduit from the connection outside the gate, down the driveway to the house. If the wire runs ok, then no issues and we get connected. If they can't run the wire through the conduit, then it's our problem not their's and we are respons...

Not an issue for me. I'm with Eir and upgraded to Gigabit broadband about a year ago. It has been great.

Petrol/Diesel Prices - Maxol
I don't know how many have noticed, but the Maxol in Donabate is about 5c per litre dearer than most other places. The garage on the south side of Swords main street is 1.67.9 for diesel and 1.75.9 for petrol. That's compared to 1.72.9 for diesel and 1.80.9 for petrol in Donabate. That's a lot on a ...

Re: Indoor TV aerial
This thread on Boards.ie may be useful. Looks like you'll only get the Irish stations and can be hit and miss. For more variety and quality, a dish and freeview box are the way to go. Don't be surprised that retailers sell stuff that isn't really suited to the Irish market. DAB radios are a good exa...

Re: Aldi Planning Permission for Donabate
I agree. Given how large Donabate will become, especially along the distributor road, it makes little sense to have three supermarkets in the one area. If one supermarket has already been given permission across the road, I'd be surprised if Final approve a second on the same section of road. As I s...

Re: Aldi Planning Permission for Donabate
I think there was planning permission granted opposite, but, from what I remember, it was for more of a convenience store than a supermarket. I would agree that we need another supermarket, but I don't think that's the right location. I can't see how traffic could be sufficiently managed. It would m...

Aldi Planning Permission for Donabate
Aldi submitted planning permission to build a retail outlet on the Church of Ireland lands on Turvey Road. There was originally planning permission to build houses on that site. The application can be found here. https://planning.agileapplications.ie/fingal/application-details/91397?fbclid=IwAR1KRr7...

Ours is a system boiler as we had previously. We weren't given the option of a combi so not sure what would be involved in converting.

Re: New Gas System Boiler and BER
Our house is 24 years old. We had the original boiler (well two boilers) up to two years ago. We originally had one boiler and had a second added when the house was 4 years old as we added an extension. At the time, it made sense as it would have meant scrapping a fairly new boiler. However, as ener...
