Re: Tidal pool
Is it necessary? Pouring a load of reinforced concrete onto the beach isn't ideal, and for what? Most of the time the sea swimming conditions are perfect..

Re: Help Stop the Tsunami of Unsustainable Development
Nothing to do with nimbyism, it’s the type of development. All you have to do is look at the development opposite the scout hut. Semi detached houses towered over by an apartment block, which is 10ft away, and looks like a cell block. Shall we just build lots of high rise flats like ballymun had, b...

I'm pretty sure this is an offence. You should report it to the Gardaí.

Have you considered putting up a donations page to help cover the cost of IT infrastructure? Do you need any help with the technical administration of the site?

Re: Corballis East SHD
“Dart expansion” - they can’t just electrify the line to Drogheda - they need to upgrade it to have multiple lanes (2 in each direction). Still have the bottleneck at Connolly. Adding more darts over a longer stretch just means by the time they get to Malahide they’re already packed. They should op...

Re: Corballis East SHD
How is this democracy in action when the whole point of democracy is for our representatives to have an input and to ensure the development plan is being adhered to which this is bypassing... Also your drawing is based on a development plan which had promises regarding densities, phasing and greens...

Re: Corballis East SHD
You live in a fairytale world. This kind of growth too quickly without the infrastructure a garda station, shops... Trains already at capacity. Poor bus service can cause massive longterm problems. If it was done in phases rather than all sprung at once people may buy into it. Also what plan are yo...

Re: Corballis East SHD
Presumably people will be working from home from the many apartments, duplexes and houses. Alternatively they may decide to hop on the train to head to the office which is within a short walking distance. It really is ideal. Beyond that there appears to be a very welcome number of retail units that...

They are not suitable for the area. Where is the employment and facilities go with them. Donabate is already under pressure with houses in the pipeline. Presumably people will be working from home from the many apartments, duplexes and houses. Alternatively they may decide to hop on the train to he...

Looks like a nice development. Mix of house types suitable for families, as well as some higher density apartments buildings and they're building a park too!

Re: Houses Ballymastone Disaster
I can't see this working. People won't want to 450K for a gaf when they know 20% of the neighbours get it for nothing and 20% for half the price (sorry but that's reality). It will mean the most of the private houses will be sold on the housing agency who will privately buy them and use them to hou...

Re: Houses Ballymastone Disaster
Fingal County Council voted to approve it. Probably good news that it'll happen now under this Government with only 20% social housing, than when Sinn Féin eventually get into power and revisit the scheme with 100% social housing. Glenveagh have vowed that the portion designated for private sale wil...

Great to see Phase 2 chugging along. Would anyone happen to know what kind of roof trusses the houses are built with? Is it a standard truss or is the attic conversion ready?

Re: New Houses - The Paddocks
I purchased as part of phase 2, and I'm just wondering how the roof is built? Are they built with standard A frames, and if so has anyone had theirs built with attic conversion in mind?
