Re: ‘New’ Traffic Lights Near Romayo’s
On the other hand, would be great to have some lights or something so kids & families can cross safely at Scrumdiddly's. Maybe they could do both at the same time. Two pelican crossings?

If you sign up for delivery saver in Tesco, it's 10 a month for weekly delivery, if you are happy to get it on Tuesday to Thursday. I agree we need another option to SuperValu but there's plenty of room along the new road and it's only going to be for locals (no-one's coming from Swords or Rush, the...

Yes, the problem is the council. The solution is not to build more houses without the council building more facilities, like schools.

Re: After school services in the village?
Have you checked with Sherpa? I think they might pick up from the other schools. There was another one called After-School or something equally hard to search for and I think it was in the Scout's Den, so you could check with whoever runs that. Also there's this https://www.facebook.com/Donabate.Aft...

"It's usually the ones that bang on about 'property values' and 'trees' or cycle about with those stupid cargo bikes so everyone can see how eco friendly they are." This is a pretty judgemental stance you have. Regarding objections, possibly some people are objecting to any development but...

You could try the parish hall. I know there are trad sessions there with Leithinis so probably it's a good place to try a one-off volume check

Piano/Keyboard Lessons
Seeking piano lessons for children (6yrs +8yrs) in Donabate.
Does anyone know of any lesson providers, either delivered at own home or at teachers premises?
There is a Donabate school of music listed on Facebook, but they've left the area and don't teach anymore.

Thanks so much for writing all this out; it was read out to the whole family at dinner time and all very interested. If ever there was some walking history tour, count me in!
Thanks again!

Fireworks Season - Please talk to your teenagers
Hi It's fireworks season again and I'm asking any parents here to please talk to your teenagers. Yesterday we almost were hit by a firework being thrown in a field and last night there were kids throwing fireworks in the green. I don't think any of this is being done maliciously but I do think they ...

Overnight? Surely that isn't legal. I thought work was only allowed between 08:00 and 16:00. There is a new phase going in in The Paddocks (beside the Community Centre & Educate Together school) so they are driving in the foundations, should be finished soon enough, it's not that large of a numb...

Hi Ken Thanks for all you have done, the site is really great to have. Donations are probably more hassle than they're worth but also might be worth a try. If you can see the traffic then you'll know whether you would get enough unique people to donate either €10 x 10 people or €5 x 20 people. Thank...

Re: New Houses - The Paddocks
It is Panda, yes. Would be great if everyone went for Panda too so there's only one collection truck per bin. I lived in an estate where there were around 3 and it was a real pain. I checked prices on moving in and they're all the same really. Also Panda do a bin cleaning service too, which is good....

Re: New Houses - The Paddocks
I'm sure it is all the same but best to check when you get into your house to be on the safe side. You'll probably get a touch up done following the move in and you can get it from the painter then.

For floors, a few people here have used Top Floors. I found their selection pretty good and they were reliable.
For the electrics, we used Ian Kerrigan, who also did a few of the houses here for alarms and lighting and so on.
Make sure to get the colour of the paint when you move in

We've not found any problems at all with noise, it's really good. The vents let in some noise from outside so with the storm wind the other week, it was noisy but overall, no issues.

Re: New Houses - The Paddocks
We lived in a house prior to this that didn't have a pump (water pressure was AWFUL) so it's new to us and was a little annoying at first but we're used to it now and it doesn't bother us. We really appreciate the great water pressure and the fact that the hot water works even if someone is using a ...
