Re: New arrival - Life in Donabate

There are worse places you could live than in Donabate but ultimately what you are getting is a combination of the worst aspects of urban living (overcrowding, traffic jams, public transport that is barely useable as it is too full, pollution, criminality, antisocial behaviour) with the worst aspect...

Re: 144 New apartments on Turvey

This is a very positive development for Donabate. Great to see local planners, Downey Planning, coming up with the right scheme for the right location. The reduced parking to encourage the future residents of the apartments to use public transport is also very welcome and shows good forward planning...

Re: WHAT WENT WRONG IN THE VILLAGE LAST NIGHT

You are right, Lofty. The problem here is that development has overtaken the ability of the infrastructure to cope with it and as you point out, what we have seen so far is only the tip of the development iceberg with the population about to double in size to over 20,000 people is the next few years...

Re: Regret Buying Home in DONABATE?

My wife and I are looking forward to moving to Donabate in around July time, it’s location close to the coast, motorway, public transport etc. along with the feeling we get when we have visited the village made us sure we had made the right decision. I am aware that not everything will be rosy and ...

Re: Swamped with open contempt

This is a thundering disgrace. How is Fingal being allowed to jepardise the health and well-being of the people of Donabate, and particularly that of the children of Donabate, in return for a grubby handfull of silver?

Re: Show me the money

Quick question: Is the distributor road not included in the 'paltry 650,000' that has been spent on infrastructure in Donabate? I'm sure It cost a lot more than that. And it would help to be clear on the issue. Pretty soon prospective FG TDs and their FF counterparts who have been supporting them i...

Just wondering for people who aren’t from Donabate itself what you think of Donabate itself? We’ve young children and there a...

Re: Gaelscoil announced for Donabate and Portrane

Well done Donabate Portrane Community Council and Councillor Paul Mulville for all the hard work in getting this gaelscoil for Donabate and Portrane. It will make a huge difference to the community. Fantastic to have such great advocates for the community.
