Re: Corona Virus

No, I'd rather they stocked the shelves out of hours and did not put their staff and customers at risk. I'd rather we gave their staff the space to work safely. That's what I'd rather. Your post is so dumb and self-contradictory I won't even bother with it.

Re: Corona Virus

Hey Supervalu! You know the way you have those stickers helping people to stay 2m apart at the tills? Well here's an idea: How about you stock the shelves out of hours so that the aisles aren't blocked with trolleys and your staff making it impossible to avoid brushing past people at 15cm? I was in ...

My take, and I have zero affiliation with any organisation so no agenda other than the quality of life for me and my family, there is a long history of FCC shafting the community with sham consultations. This includes hand-picked advisory groups, unpublicised and difficult to access releases of info...

It's not ok. More importantly it's not for you to decide if it's ok. That's why we have laws: so the selfish and thoughtless don't get to dictate how the rest of us live. Why is this hard for you to understand?

I'd say there's a strong correlation between driving a 4x4 and parking in disabled spaces.

Re: Convenient Parking at Community Centre

I dont see the problem with parking in one of the many spaces for disabled at the train station as long as you stay in your car and you are not denying a space to someone who needs it. Maybe have a think about it. Despite what you may think, you are not that special. At the very least, those others...

Re: Convenient Parking at Community Centre

Very good. Also, waiting in a disabled parking space at the train station for your fit and able child with the engine of your massive 4x4 running is also fine as long as you are prepared to point out to people who don't agree that "there are plenty of disabled spaces". If other people are ...

Re: Meeting 21 Jan at 6pm in Donabate Library all welcome!

There is a history of councillors and TDs who have been very supportive of developers' interests in Fingal. Providing facilities for sports groups is a very cost-effective fig leaf for this, while also serving as a useful way of dividing the community. This is why all the sports clubs are first to b...

There is a post about someone being overcharged by 12 euro on a full shop - no mention of pastries and a fair chunk of cash so this can't be it. Since you still haven't linked to the famous 60c pastries post you made such big deal out of, so I'll go out on a limb here and suggest you invented it. In...

Supermarket self-service

Just a comment that using doing your own checkout work so the supermarket doesn't have to is facilitating the cutting of hours for people working on the checkouts in the interest of profits. It used to be a choice of convenience for people in a hurry to get out fast with one or two items. Lately the...

The new eirbus service seems to have taken a substantial proportion of the usual customers from the 33d - maybe more than half. Would be interested to know what anyone who uses it more regularly thinks.

It's not a mystery - poor planning from FCC: allowing prolific development with inadequate infrastructure. They did it to Balbriggan 30 years ago, nothing new.

Re: New bus service to the city Centre

In principle this service is good news but it appears to be operating on almost the same route and within 20 minutes of the 33D. Hard to see the benefit and possibly a threat to the existing service which was hard fought to retain. An hour or 90 minutes between them would have made more sense - unle...

That's interesting about people preferring to drive despite the dreadful traffic - I have been doing the same for a couple of years when I can't deal with the train. The recent halting of travel past Connolly after peak hours is also a major deterrent. There is 3 billion euros in votes for fast broa...
