Re: New road Settlers

Thank you for your post Ciaran. This forum does a great disservice, giving the misperception that all of the peninsula is closed minded, provincial and unkind. Well done in speaking for the rest of us. it's fairly worrying when some people defend this type of behaviour simply because the group of p...

Re: House Alarm Carrs Mill

and again this Monday it's going off. History with this particular alarm means it will go off continuously all day until they get home and turn it off. Does anyone know the house in question? Can someone inform the occupants? Does anyone know why there is no specific legislation in relation to house...

Re: New arrival - Life in Donabate

You are easily the most negative person in this forum. Maybe you should think of another outlet for your frustrations other than spamming this place. I'm not going to get into it any further. Good luck. if you don't want to hear facts or opinions then maybe its best to stay offline. i wonder why it...

Re: New arrival - Life in Donabate

You are totally deluded if you think your post was balanced. The first 2 sentences were positive. 90% of it was not. But keep on doing what you do. My post said the following: Lots of great things about Donabate. Really there are so many. People are great. Genuine sense of community. The words 'lot...

Re: New arrival - Life in Donabate

Op I wouldn't take anything said here as a balanced representation of the area. It's the same small group of posters saying the same negative things over and over that post in every thread. yes OP because people are only allowed to say positive things about everything. Some people don't want to hea...

Re: New arrival - Life in Donabate

Lots of great things about Donabate. Really there are so many. People are great. Genuine sense of community. Anti-social behaviour is probably much less than you would see elsewhere. There will always be parents everywhere who don't really care about what their kids do, or aren't able to parent them...

Re: Bypass Opening Date Anyone?

and remember, this is not a bypass as such, it's a road designed to allow the doubling of the population of donabate. the road will be great in the short term. it's a lovely road, but will be at capacity rapidly. they built it single lane, despite the planning granted for the majority of the road to...

Re: 144 New apartments on Turvey

This is a very positive development for Donabate. Great to see local planners, Downey Planning, coming up with the right scheme for the right location. The reduced parking to encourage the future residents of the apartments to use public transport is also very welcome and shows good forward plannin...

new planning application gone up, straight to an bord pleanala. details here turveyavenueshd.ie i suggest everyone has a read and make their own mind up. also ask yourself why it is being called 'strategic' first thing that stood out for me was in the 'community and social infrastructure audit repor...

Re: WHAT WENT WRONG IN THE VILLAGE LAST NIGHT

my own completely unqualified opinion is that there is too much pressure on the system with all the new housing being built. At a guess I would say that when a planning application goes in, Irish Water generally just say yeah all is grand, but I would question have they actually done any capacity st...

i'm not a party voter, never have been and never will be. i never understand why you would simply vote for a party just because your dad did it, and your dads dad etc etc. i know many people like this, mostly (but not in every case) confined to an older generation. so i like to think i give them all...

Was wondering why the Community council are looking for more of a say than all the other organisations in the parish on the consultation process . Surely , the more groups involved in the consulting process would ensure a more complete list of what we need to achieve with the Council , everybody re...

Parish Hall Meeting

Great attendance at last nights meeting at the parish hall and great to see overwhelming support for ensuring the future of this peninsula is cared for and managed properly. again it has to be noted that neither FF nor FG sent representatives to the meeting. One has to wonder why? Does anyone know w...

well done to everyone.
it's about time our local FF rep got on board with the people and not with the council/his party. Fighting against your own people is never a good thing. Our local FF election candidate has been quiet on this matter. Is the party pulling the strings here? If so, why?

Re: Have your say on the future of Donabate

this is an extremely worrying development. why are only a handful of people being invited to a meeting which I believe is to decide the future of this town? I don't know the content of this meeting but it seems likely that part (or all) of the discussion is to talk about the 6/7 story tower blocks t...

Re: Show me the money

Quick question: Is the distributor road not included in the 'paltry 650,000' that has been spent on infrastructure in Donabate? correct me if i'm wrong but the distributor road isn't technically a bypass of the village. It is in place simply to open up land for more development and therefore can't ...

Just to reinforce that Fingal CoCo have not ruled out the agreement being revisited at any stage in the future . They are acknowledging the democratic right of the majority to challenge the agreement which has been imposed upon us by a minority. The bottom line is that Beverton residents who have s...

Once again the weekend is here and I see the usual 20+ so teenagers at the entrance to The Priory and around the group of shops on the Portrane Road. you would have to wonder who gets paid to make these decisions. traffic lights on the hearse road? I can forsee daily traffic backups both into and out of donabate at peak times as a direct result of these lights. what was wrong with the roundabout? seemed to be working just fine.

Re: New bus service to the city Centre

In principle this service is good news but it appears to be operating on almost the same route and within 20 minutes of the 33D. Hard to see the benefit and possibly a threat to the existing service which was hard fought to retain. An hour or 90 minutes between them would have made more sense - unl...
