Any thoughts on the amount of money it is costing to keep this gate closed for just over 7 hours in every 24?

I live in Beverton & have not noticed any antisocial behaviour near the gate.The only disturbance is with teenagers jumping the gate after 10.30! I don't see why there's a gate between Beverton & Ballisk when people can walk freely everywhere else in the village eg between Somerton & Car...
