Train Station - Drop off

Rant alert! Why do drivers dropping people to the train station insist on stopping on the through way to the car park holding up cars getting to the car park. For the sake of driving an extra 50 yards and pulling in after the ticket machines, what are they saving themselves?! Some people have absolu...

Re: Buying & Selling in pyrite affected estates

I am selling...was hoping to hear from others who have sold in the past to see how it played out. With green cert costs of €2.5k and 8 week lead times, just wanted to see what is reasonable.

Re: Three mobile reception in Donabate

Three's coverage in Carr's Mill/Somerton is dreadful. Calls have to be made/taken out in the garden.
I think the coverage is coming over the estuary from Lusk!!

Community College - uniforms

Hi all,
Other circumstances lead us to posting here.
We are looking to see if any forum members have a girls jumper (approx. size 34) for the community college or know of a store with late stocks of them. I would be collecting immediately if available.
Thanks!

Lost dog - Carr's Mill/Somerton

I have just seen a lost small red dog around Carr's Mill & Somerton if anyone's dog has gotten out.

He had a part red chest harness and could only tell from his tag that he might be called Crunch.

Re: Vodafone - no service

The signal from Three is shocking in Carr's Mill...indoors or out. Might invest in a satellite phone! Are the only masts in the train station/macari's/keelings? Are there any beyond the school on Beaverstown Road?

Recent roadworks by the Credit Union

Hi all, Would anyone know what utility company completed - a word I use lightly - the recent roadworks near the credit union. What ever filler they used has collapsed leaving a pronounced lip with the rest of the road and the manhole cover making it a danger to all road traffic. I'm thinking the qui...

Re: Donabate Beach This Morning

Parts of the beach were in a bad way when I was down last night with discarded childrens clothes, broken glass bottles, empty plastic bottles. Sadly it's not just one type of beach goer that behaves with no thought for others. I know it's a catch 22 but the council should have a separate bin for rub...

Wow it mustn't have been on sale for long. No sign of it on the property price register yet.

I think it was previously owned by a Corkonian as the Confederate flag used to be flying outside :)

History of the house at Egans beach

Could anyone tell me the history of the old house at Egans beach as you walk up towards the Waterside on the cliff walk from Portrane.

Was it part of St. Ita's or maybe an old coastguard's station ?

It's very quirky and very well taken care of. Love the stone pillars and the outhouse !

Thanks

Re: Name & Shame

Agree on the horse owners. While it's great strolling on the beach when the horses are out and about, their owners have to make sure they clean up after them. We all deserve to share & enjoy these incredible beaches !
