Re: New Houses - The Paddocks
Direct fibre or FTTH is available in the peninsula now via Openeir, so check with Sky, Vodafone, Pure Telecom etc. To see who will offer the best service. I have Pure but transferring due to ongoing issues they have with reliability, which when working from home, is a major headache. They have just ...

Re: Internet / Broadband
Hi,, direct fibre is live across the area. Sky have a 35e offer for 500mb fibre for 12 months,, 50e set up. I signed up to Pure Telecom last November and nothing but issues, they only set my correct speed a week ago, did not resolve WiFi speed problems they acknowledged existed. I have been removed ...

Re: Internet / Broadband
An update on FTTH Spoke with 2 providers today Orders for FTTH will be bookable from mid November. One company currently shows you can book it on their site but when you online chat, they confirm it is not in fact live. Hopefully there will be some strong offers for this service and as the fibre is ...

Re: Internet / Broadband
Dual and routers are very useful but only if the broadband speed itself is reliable. 5ghz signal is better for high speed needs such as gaming, but signal quality and strength travels a shorter distance from the router. You also need devices which can run on the 5ghz bandwidth, a lot of older laprop...

Re: Internet / Broadband
Delighted that you have a fast reliable service in Beverton, envious too. I had thought of trying Virgin again despite an appalling service from them 3 years ago, however a neighbour switched to them about 4 weeks ago on the 360mb plan, they told me speeds have varied between 16! and 280 depending o...

Re: Internet / Broadband
Based on what the engineers have told me, the fibre to the home/ direct fibre service will begin in the coming weeks. I know people who have set it up elsewhere and are delighted with it as no sharing of whichever service you order 150mb/ 500mb/ 1gb Im holding in for it. Re satellite broadband, my b...

Re: Internet / Broadband
Eir, Sky and Vodafone use the same infrastructure going back to the local exchange. Switching between them with that service will make little difference. Since April, direct fibre is being rolled out across Donabate, with Openeir completing tests at the moment. Having spoken with them, the service w...

Re: Floor fitting - looking for recommendations
Hi
As we where looking for a specific product, we used MCS carpets wood and flooring in Swords, who where superb value for money.
But also try Malahide Flooring company in Donabate itself, a very good company too.

Teenage groups/ fireworks morons
To the parents, in name only, of the petty vandals/ fireworks morons who are on full display once more,, and to those who defend them, you are a stain on the peninsula. I am not going to appeal to any sense of decency because time and again you display a self centred ignorance that will not change, ...

Re: Shoreline Hotel
Interesting comments about the hotel, we have been planning on going out,, due to the images posted of the renovations, our previous experiences with food from its past life where very poor. Re comments on Keelings, we have had our home here for 17 years and never entered, quite simply due to their ...
