Re: New Houses at Beresford

Who did you use to wire the ports? Do you have a central switch that sends internet to the ports? Did you get a port installed in the attic? I want to have internet devices wired instead of relying on wireless. Thanks for the response :) I wired the cables and ports myself. You don't need to hire s...

Carv wrote:Has anyone used the Cat 5e cabelling yet for having wired ethernet internet in the house? I just noticed that the cabelling is included in the house behind the TV sockets and I am looking to get it extended to the attic.

Thanks
Carv
I have used it. What specifically do you want to know about it?

Re: New Houses at Beresford

Hey all, Just read through all the posts about Beresford, great to have some insight from the first phase of the build. My wife and I put our booking deposit down for one of the three beds (just behind the listed house), I see the foundations are in and the are already building the external walls. ...

Re: New Houses at Beresford

Thanks Austy, I didn't know Woodies do it. I'll try there.

I don't know either if they've changed key since the final phase of Beverton. The Beresford key that I have is a big awkward yoke, looks like an old car key, but I don't see how it should cost 15 euro to cut one.

Re: New Houses at Beresford

Has anybody got any spare front door keys cut since they moved in? I've asked 2 different key cutting places for a price and they both said 15 euro per key. Seems a bit excessive. A normal front door key costs 4 euro to cut, but these larger keys seem to be more expensive. Has anybody managed to fin...

Re: New Houses at Beresford

Councillor Phil Lynam has contacted me and said that he will visit the estate tomorrow evening sometime between 6:30pm and 7pm to view the issue at first hand. If anybody is interested in meeting with him, direct message a number/e-mail to me and I will text/e-mail you when he arrives. There’s no ha...

Re: New Houses at Beresford

If it helps anyone, I've drafted a letter that I intend to send to local reps. It outlines all of our concerns. I can send a copy to anyone who wants one and they can add in their own thoughts etc. etc. Just as an FYI, a local TD has already responded to express his support of the concerns and has ...

Re: New Houses at Beresford

Anything should help, but I'd imagine multiple observations from individuals would have more weight than a single petition, presuming people actually make them. I agree with BlowIn, I think that a large amount of individual objections would have a lot more impact than a single petition. It’s great ...

Re: New Houses at Beresford

Another idea for an objection that somebody gave to me was that with an estate of this size (Beresford + New Development), if there is only one access route there would be health and safety concerns for the residents. If the only access route was somehow blocked, a lot of people would be impacted in...

Re: New Houses at Beresford

I only seen this planning application now, by chance! I was not aware of it up until today! I would say that most of our neighbours are not aware either. I think we’re going to have to act fast on this. January 11th will come around very quickly. I think we should start by putting a short letter wit...

Re: New Houses at Beresford

@Austy

Did you get yours sorted out? Mine also only makes noise when the hot water is turned on. Mine is more of a droning noise though, as if somebody next door is drilling the wall, but it makes sense that it is probably as you described, trapped air that expands due to heating.

Re: New Houses at Beresford

Thanks for the reply, BlowIn. I would have expected my energy consumption to be similar to yours, approximately 15 - 17 kWh. It does sound like there is something going wrong with mine. My radiators were full of air and I had to bleed them several times, but they seem to be ok now. I'll have to get ...

Re: New Houses at Beresford

Apologies in advance for my very lengthy post, but can I ask how is everybody finding the heating system (air to water heat pump) in Beresford/Beverton? I recently moved in to Beresford, and I’m expecting my electricity bill to be very large. I’ve checked my meter and I seem to be using around 30 kW...
