Hi there, While driving out of the village on the Hearse road I have recently noticed a badly faded inscription on what appears to be a milestone on the wall in between the Maxol garage and the square, Donabate. Is this a recent addition as it looks like the wall was recently renovated? Does anybody...

Hi Ian,
Better late than never I suppose. I'mnot too sure about Lawrence but my Father would know better than me. I know he has some written documents about Patrick. as for pictures I'm not sure but I will find out.

Patrick Kane (Keane) was my Grandfather's uncle. Private Patrick Kane wasn't from Portrane or Donabate. He was from Balheary, Swords, which is/was in the parish of Portrane/Donabate. He later moved to Commons East, Swords before he fought with the Royal Dublin Fusiliers in WW1 and died at the age of...
