We used the following who are based in Swords, they do a good job by power washing the outside and cleaning out the gunge from inside the gutters (excuse my non technical terms)

Re: Load bearing wall
We live in Beverton and did this about 3 years ago. We used a builder and his only concern was where he could position the RSJ that would be required, he was hoping there would be room to place it in the ceiling i.e no water pipes etc in the way of else it would have to be placed below the ceiling w...

I also like the fact that Donabate/Portrane is not on the way to anywhere else - no one drives through the village on route to somewhere else !

Re: Text Message looking for Customs Payment
Fully agree they are getting more and more sophisticated
I got one from Revenue which looked very genuine, but they were looking for my Bank details to refund tax to me which made me question it and had to do some detailed looking at the sender email address to verify it was a scam email

Re: Internet / Broadband
Not a technical person at all but we live in Beverton and have always had poor broadband - never got above 100mpbs and the broadband would drop at least once a day for no reason - we were with Eir Decided to move to SKY recently as they had a 12 month half price offer and reckoned it couldn't be any...

Agree with Derek above
Am in Beverton and we have Eir fibre, the only issue in addition we have is that the broadband seems to drop a few times a day. Its only about a minute but very annoying when you are WFH

Re: Mini Euros Social Distancing
Glad to see they are proceeding with the Mini Euros as it's one of the stand out annual events in the community. As the previous poster said nothing is without risk, but I am hoping we are in an even better position in August than we are now. I have my kids signed up and I am sure that if the situat...

Our oldest suffered from Colic as well - although a good few years ago
We changed the bottles to Dr, Browns bottles and they helped
I did a quick google and they still are relatively available in chemists

For goodness sake grow up! I am talking about parking for a few minutes in a space which is not needed by anyone and surrounded by lots of other empty spaces for disabled. I am going to assume that you are just trolling the forum - otherwise I suggest you take a long hard look at what you are sayin...

Re: Regret Buying Home in DONABATE?
All I can add is that we bought a house in Donabate in 1999 as a couple and have since got married and raised a family. Absolutely no regrets about doing this in Donabate and wouldn't change a thing if I had the opportunity to go back in time From the local amenities (beach Newbridge house etc) to p...

Looks like another community action group was successful in overturning a large scale development.
Hopefully they will see sense in relation to this proposed development as well.

Re: Burrow to Rush ferry
This post has caught my attention as an a bit of a history buff !! Don't know anything about the ferry to Rush, but have heard about the boat that used to bring golfers from Malahide to Donabate to play golf before the road was built ? I looked up the Island website and they have some information on...

There is a simple solution if they were prepared to spend a bit of extra money. I work across the road from a new Lidl supermarket that was built this year, the site during construction stage had a separate entrance and exit. Before trucks left the site to go back on the the public road they went ov...

Credit to the Guards in relation to the incident in Gormanstown, they seem to be making good progress on that attack, but that apparently was caused by thugs from Balbriggan who seem to travel up and down the train line.We do have problems in our village and we should all work closely with the Guard...

Re: Renewable Energy
Something caught by eye this morning as heading out of Donabate via Turvey Avenue, I passed three large trucks in quick succession - two looked to be carrying gravel. They were heading the opposite way towards the village. Just wondering if they have coped on to the CCTV on the Hearse Road and are u...
