Re: Online Petition To Remove Beverton/Ballisk Walkway Gate
I am open to correction, but the Gallery opening was blocked by a petition. The path to connect two parts of Beverton was objected to by a number of residents (more than two) and it had nothing to do with Football as it was going through a bunch of trees. Beresford, depends on the opening. I don't k...

Re: Online Petition To Remove Beverton/Ballisk Walkway Gate
People only want gates and paths that benefit them. Some Beverton people didn't want a gate and path with the Gallery One part of Beverton didn't want a path across their green because it meant people from another part of Beverton would walk across it Other parts tried to stop paths and walkways to ...

Re: Local Election Results 2019
Not much difference between FF and FG, and FF did no harm to Henchy; because O'Brien and Clifford Lee act like they give a sh*t about area. Alan Farrell may as well be an MP for some English borough with his level of disinterest.

Re: Local Election Results 2019
Ok so FG poll at 24% or thereabouts but only 13.3% out here. Why? Because Alan Farrell has acted as if he has no interest in the area - doesn't even turn up for local meetings. It's a joke because there are a lot of ABC1's out here and FG has ignored the area as it plans to dump it all with a dispro...
Re: Elections
From what I can gather, there is no ideological or policy difference whatsoever. They'll work hard, fight for you, blah blah blah
Re: Elections
They all want better infrastructure and say they'll fight the good cause. So what's the difference?
Re: Elections
There are a lot of people worried about the degree of social housing and the way it is being snuck without any meaningful increase in facilities. Who is going to speak up and not be afraid of the PC backlash?
Re: Elections
It sounds crazy but if FG had a strong presence in Bate with a hotline to Leo and Murphy, you'd wonder would most of the crap that is happening in the Bate be happening?
Re: Elections
The biggest monstrosity is not the 200 units for Tilberry, it is the 2.000 units for Ballymastone.
Alan Farrell, FG et al don't give two hoots about Donabate. It would certainly be interesting to see if this changed or continued if an FG candidate got elected out here.

Re: Elections
My concern would be, there are so many local candidates they will cancel each other out.

Re: Housing - Ballymastone
Here is what I expect of my local reps Tell us unequivocally they are against the amount of social housing on its way in Donabate. An apartment complex in Donabate is taking more than twice the amount of the entire county of Offaly. They could challenge Fingal CC's policy in this regard and hold the...

Re: Housing - Ballymastone
There is a bit of spoof going on here. 20% min social. 20% affordable and the others will low end of the market, small little duplex crap. After a few years, when the various landlords are renting to HAP scheme it is more likely to be 80% social housing and a ghetto. This is the thing about Irish pe...

So here it is. Books are better than iPads for learning. I wonder will the school ditch the iPads now?

Re: New Houses at Beresford
The apartment block is in planning permission but like everything in planning permission it is unclear as to how much will be social. In Ireland, the developer can keep his arrangements for social housing private and with the council. What a lot of the developers are doing is selling all their priva...

Hold on a sec... What's the issue here? Owner are being asked to keep their dogs on a leash in a public space. Struggling to see the problem here. They can scare little kids and the dogs are getting designated areas to run off the leash. Sounds like it's win win.

Have to say I feel sorry for responsible dog owners who treat their dogs well and clean up their poo's.
At the same times, the ones who don't clean up the poo are a friggin disgrace.

Re: Politicians: Hot or Not?
The only difference between FF and FG is FF are even happier with large amounts of social housing in Dublin as they want to regain a lot of the vote they have lost to the hard left and shinners. FG are for the richer men but they don't care about Donabate. So from a Donabate perspective FG have done...

So the developer says please withdraw your objections if we go to An Board Pleanala, they will make me build higher densities. Residents withdraw their objection. Some time passes. Developer applies for higher densities anyway. Mad. That area should have had more green space but developer paid of Fi...
