School Recommendation

Hi Everyone, We've been lucky enough to be offered a junior infants place in both Scoil Cailini and Educate Together for our daughter next September and wondering what people's experiences have been with both? Any advice/differences on academics, sports, discipline etc? Also, does anyone know what t...

Re: Corona Virus

Hi everyone, away from all the to-ing and fro-ing about people in the wrong and right, I'd echo above about maybe being a bit more focused on the elderly or immunocompromised. Home place in Mayo are circulating the little form below in the letterbox of these people who may need some assistance as we...

Gemma at Donabate train station

I hope everyone got to meet the lovely guest to our train station tonight with a warm invitation to the Climate Hoax in Balbriggan

There were a number of good souls who called her out on the spot. To which she shouted some vague libel threats after them.

Re: Trains

Have taken the full range of trains regularly and generally the only seating you will find is on the 9:00 onwards. There are those isolated and lucky occasions where you might get one, but take it as standard that you will be standing on the earlier trains. I'm sure by the time the hybrid/DART arriv...

Agreed alright Vlad, but as long as it's done properly is entirely the issue. They are obviously showing a complete lack of foresight as to sustainable and responsible development & services for the areas current and potential residents. The link I posted is moreso showing the potential outcomes...

Re: Looking for a dog minder/ kennel for 4 weeks

Would absolutely 100% recommend Best Dog Kennels in Garristown. They are exceptional and although our fella is a giant sensitive soul and gets all whimpery when we even touch a bag to pack, he gets visibly exited going up there. Even gave him a small grooming for us while we were away the last time ...

Re: Public meeting Tuesday, Feb 6th, 8 pm

All points raised fully agreed with here. Have to say SPDD are doing excellent work in representing the wider concerns and issues of the community, so well done and thank you. Brendan Ryan's commentary, on utilising 'leverage' to obtain the key utilities needed to responsibly develop Donabate to the...

Re: Preschool recommendations

From what we've heard Linda's Creche & Montessori is supposed to be excellent. We had tried to get our daughter in there but they were full unfortunately and we went on to a waiting list. She's currently in Tigín in Swords and have to say they are excellent in there. She's developing great and t...

Re: Hearse Road

The car and wall yesterday took a fair amount of damage alright. Speed would have to be a factor but in saying that, you wouldn't necessarily have to be going above the speed limit to lose traction or fishtail badly, especially in poor weather or with worn tyres.

Re: Hearse Road

Crash yesterday evening at 6pm as well at that same corner. 2 crashes in 14hrs. Absolutely agree that a compulsory purchase should take that corner away. There's a crash every few weeks it feels like. Hopefully nothing serious this morning but got caught in the traffic at Newbridge as well.

Educate Together Enrolment

Hi everyone, I recently pre-enrolled my daughter in the Educate Together National School for the school year starting 2021 and received notification back from them with an enrolment number enclosed. It's quite a large number and the reasoning for the number is somewhat confusing (I'm a first timer s...

Re: Eir Broadband performance

I would echo that about Eir being bulletproof. We're out in Corballis and the only real option out here but thankfully the best option. Would highly recommend and have had no need to talk with customer service whatsoever since installation. If you've got a good deal, take it!

Definitely couldn't Google with the terrible 3 reception down there  Ken I absolutely appreciate a well trained Rottie's temperament and am quite familiar with the breed alright. I've witnessed what a wonderful companion the breed can be, especially for children. However, these two dogs didn't ...

Cheers, all is okay indeed. It definitely woke me up to say the least! Just glad moreso that herself wasn't with me and that I hadn't brought my dog down, as I would imagine that they would have gone for him definitely. The one thing that the Garda said, which I found interesting, is that if ever (h...

Hi guys, Had a scary experience myself this foggy morning. Nope, it's absolutely dreadful. Can't make/receive a call in my own house in Corballis and 1-bar signal comes in and out. Planning to return to Vodafone as soon as contract is up.

Think I saw them down on the beach beside the Martello as well murfy. We come down the public access path through the public golf course and have a big clown of a Newfie. Turned as soon as I saw them down the beach - I knew my fella would get mauled. The warden is the best bet. Hope the dog is okay ...

Re: Solar Energy

I've come across that Boards.ie thread, it proved to be a pretty valuable discussion alright. I've heard the same thing regarding air pumps in relation to space heating and when I was pricing heat pumps, I came across frankly ridiculous quotes (in one case for over €35k!). The technology is similar ...

Re: Solar Energy

Apologies everyone, just to clarify that the panel is hot water only on our system. Our central heating system is a multifuel boiler stove with a oil boiler as backup. As far as I know the thermodynamic panel can accommodate central heating as well.
