Re: Donabate Dexter no More?

Spoke to them several months ago.
They had to vacate the Turvey Golf Club (landlord apparently looking to build) and were looking for an alternative site.
They have cattle opposite Lissenhall Vet approaching the first roundabout on the left hand side (the Donabate Dexter sign is there).

Re: Lack of mask wearing starting to creep in

Just had a question. I know it’s a legal requirement for customers to wear masks in shop. However is it the same for those operating and serving to do so too? Food outlet in this area owners openly don’t wear masks. Doesn’t make sense if customers have to wear and operators handling and close conta...

Re: Dogsh1t

In the past, we've picked up after a serial offender and hung it on the owner's door handle. Dog let out each morning just after the school run (no pesky parents around) to defecate wherever it please. Eventually reported to Fingal who promised to fine (€150) and check for licence. Every owner knows...

Re: Corona Virus

I have no issue with people "within their household group" going for a walk/cycle in Newbridge or the beach. This means no neighbours, no barbecues, no grannies at the weekend. But bear in mind that at the weekends those not blessed with amenities like ours during the week may visit. So ma...

Re: Corona Virus

I have close family in Northern Italy with whom we are in contact everyday. Ignore the importance of social distancing at your peril. The two key messages coming from Italian doctors on the front line are: 1) This is not "just a flu" - 2) This is not an "older persons' illness - evide...

And make no mistake that if you confronted anti-social behavior those same parents would cry "not my Johnny"!

Just like the parents of bullies always think they could do no wrong.

If it's similar to Beverton Meadows (i.e. the new part of the estate) you'll only get broadband from Eir or Vodafone.

Sky and Virgin do not provide broadband services here yet other than TV (Sky = satellite).

Re: New By Laws protest

I don't know why they bother with laws governing dogs as they are never enforced. Has anyone ever heard of anyone being prosecuted for their dog fowling? Has never happened as far as I'm aware. I can't see any change to the laws around dogs on leads being enforced either. I've reported someone who ...

Re: Up in smoke

The big problem is that we have such a young demographic in the peninsula and unfortunately not a lot for them to do outside of school so unfortunately the devil makes work for idle hands. We were all young once and I'm sure we are no angels, maybe the passage of time has changed our outlook. No ex...

Re: Land Development

Was it absolutely necessary to rip up every last tree, bush and shrub along the left hand side of the path to Newbridge as well as parts of the stone wall? I really hope they make amends. To my untrained eye seemed unnecessary when you have the site entrance after the petrol station on the Hearse Rd.

Re: Property Tax - it's here!

So I've got a mid-terrace in Beverton and revenue reckons I'm in the 250K-300K bracket. In other words, according to revenue my house has pretty much emerged unscathed by the worst property crash since 1929. Now, there are brand new semi-detached houses in the new part of Beverton for ~ €210K-240K. ...
